I could take pictures of spring every day for the rest of my life and still not capture all the beauty this beautiful world encompasses. I think that’s one thing that is so amazing about spring. It reminds us how beautiful life can really be. Winter has a somberness that brings on a time of reflection but spring-spring is in your face, loud and proud, bright and bold and does not apologize for all it’s beauty nor it’s allergy causing!
I don’t know about you, but everything is really starting to blossom around my house and while it does effect my sinuses, I can’t help but be in awe of the amazing things sprouting up. There are blue skies today in Seattle but the rain will be returning. I think the abundance of rain that we get in Seattle makes you really appreciate the sunny, warm days that don’t linger here in this region. Every day that I wake up to sun outside, I feel blessed. I never felt grateful for sunshine when I was growing up in the south. You just knew that when you woke up the sun would be shining and that was that.
In many ways we can become complacent about the blessings in our lives and only focus on the negative things that are at the forefront of our minds. It’s important that we change this inner dialog so that we don’t lose sight of how many good things are in our lives-even when it feels like everything is falling apart. It’s okay to be bold and bright like spring by being excited about the little things. I challenge you to go for a walk and think of 10 things you are thankful for by the time you end up back at your house. It will put you in a better mood and give you some perspective.
