Sorry I have been a bit behind in my daily photo posting. I just returned from my trip from Texas where I didn’t have a chance to upload any photos while I was away. I did get to meet a new little, perfect human who I got the chance to photograph and that was definitely the highlight of my trip. I know it’s not exactly springtime yet, but March always makes me think of spring, beautiful budding flowers just starting to peak out of the garden, and new beginnings.
Things didn’t go as I had planned when I arrived in Texas. I was originally flying out to do a maternity and newborn session but sickness prevented me from leaving and when I did finally get there, the baby had to stay in the NICU to be observed for a bit longer. Everything turned out perfectly okay and baby and mama are doing fine, but we did have to get a bit creative when it came time for newborn photos. We had planned to take photos at the house where there are these gorgeous natural wood floors and amazing lighting. Well much like many things in life, when you tend to over plan, you tend to forget that life generally is going to go in another direction from your plans. That’s hard for me to grasp sometimes. But what do you do? You roll with the punches. We packed ourselves a hospital bag full of photography supplies, props and newborn accessories and brought the photo shoot to the hospital.
That’s what spring represents to me. A time of new and a time of openness. To be more present so that you can fully accept that things will not always go as planned. Because of all that this signifies to me, I couldn’t resist when I saw a beautiful bouquet of tulips that had been brought to the new mom. I had to use them in a photo with the new baby. Because nothing says spring like fresh tulips around a new little angel.
