Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers of two and four legged critters. May your day be filled with love, laughter, and family.
Motherhood is one of THE most important jobs in the world. Our relationship with our mother’s are quite often the foundation for our relationships with others, at least that’s what psychologists say. I’m not going to go there today, I’ll leave that to the experts.
But today is a celebration for all the women we hold near and dear to our hearts. The ones who believed in us when we took our first steps, stood behind us no matter what foolish decisions we made and packed our school lunches with love each and every day of our youth. The mothers we get to hug and take to lunch today and the mother’s who we wish we could hug today, who have passed and to who we still hold close in our hearts. The mother who may not have given birth to you but adopted you as her own and raised you with love. The mother who didn’t let a silly little word like “step” get in the way of loving you as her own.
I’ve been extremely blessed having “birthed” and “raised” my own daughter Alannah and before Alannah was born I had the pleasure of falling in love with my ex-husband’s first born, Jackie. Jackie is my daughter from another mother but nevertheless still my daughter. These two lovely girls have grown into the loveliest of young ladies and now they too are mother’s and have blessed me with three grandchildren.
My heart is even fuller as next weekend, we celebrate my own mother’s 90th birthday. So much to be thankful for today.
So from our full house to your house:
Hugs and love to you and yours.
