I’m blessed – I have a home office, a real home office with doors that actually close me off from the rest of the house. Sweet huh? I have a lovely view of the backyard and a screen door that I can open to let in the fresh air. I also have an unusable shower room without a door. It’s become my shipping area and I store boxes and packing material in there. But it’s a bit of an eyesore. I had thought about finding the hippie love beads from the 60s but Jackie had a better idea.
Jackie and family were here over Easter holiday and we were talking about how I could make the most of the space for photo shoots and she came up with a spectacular idea that I just finished and thought I would share since it was sooo easy and so inexpensive to do.
Alannah had these beautiful curtain rods that she gave me for the office when we moved in. Fortunately I was able to locate a matching set on Amazon. Lavish Home Twisted Sphere Curtain Rod for Window, 3/4-Inch, Pewter
Then I ordered a roll of Savage Seamless Background Paper, 53″ wide x 12 yards, Super White, 1
Alannah installed the curtain rod using just the left and right brackets (don’t install the middle one because then you can’t put the roll on it and you’ll have to take it down). 🙂 Then we put up the roll of paper. Unlike toilet paper which goes over, I prefer my background paper to roll under. I can pull it down as long as I need it for the shoot.
I did some product shots this weekend for the new Mr. Natty line we just got in and I used my Sauder Sewing Craft Cart in Soft White for the product table. I didn’t have any clamps like the pros use so until I can get to Home Depot and pick some up, I simply used clear tape to secure to the edge of the table. So truly for less than 60.00 I have a fabulous backdrop and photo studio that hides my shipping room. Hey I am efficient with space (and money) what can I say?
