It’s another gray day in Seattle and to be honest, this winter has hit me pretty hard. You would think after 11 years in Seattle I would be used to the cold, damp, gray but for some reason this year has been particularly hard. It’s times like these, I have to try and look for the beauty in other things in order to bring my spirits up. It’s easy to fall into the trap of negativity. It took me 40 minutes to get my daughter to school today, all while the baby screamed in the backseat. I grumbled as I rushed my oldest down to her class when she stopped to stare at an earthworm. I got her to her class and me back to the car and I instantly felt really bad for yelling at her to “hurry up”. It’s moments like these that are not my proudest in parenting. It’s moments like these however that remind me that we should all be more childlike in our approach to life. Take time to look at the earthworm, find the beauty in the rain puddles and just take time to really find our own beauty-whatever that may mean.
Here at beauty cafe we are taking on a new project where we will nominate a woman of beauty each month and feature part of her story. We will interview and photograph these women of beauty and inspiration and share their journey with you so that you may be inspired by their stories. If you know a woman who should be nominated, please reach out to us. We would love to know a woman who inspires you to be a better, more beautiful person.
So today’s photo is a photo I took while in Texas and the sun was shining; reminding me of sunnier, more beautiful days. I hope if you are feeling a bit down it helps to raise your spirits as it does mine.
